Flamingo Beach is a long and white sand beach with clear blue waters and lagoons. Some of the best deep sea fishing in the world is found here, as well as other water activities such as scuba diving, sailing and diving expeditions. 

Things to do in Flamingo

Sport Fishing
With deep waters nearby, sheltered bays and rocky islands, Flamingo Beach is in a great spot for some serious sport fishing. Marlin, tuna, mahi mahi, sail-fish, rooster fish, swordfish and snapper can be found off the coast all year round. An international sailfish tournament sponsored by the Costa Rican Amateur Fishermen’s Club is hosted in Flamingo Beach every July.

Potrero Beach
Located 5 minutes away from Flamingo Beach, Potrero is a charming community of locals, expats, and tourists. In Potrero you will find vacation homes and private residences, with a few businesses in between. There are restaurants and stores, a sailing center and a craft beer brewery. The quiet streets are a couple of blocks away from the beach. 

Playa Conchal
Conchal is one of the gems making up the Gold Coast in the Guanacaste Province. It is a great place for swimming and snorkeling. Instead of sand, this beach is made of crushed shells. Without sand to create murky water, you will encounter some of the clearest waters you can find in Guanacaste. There is no direct access to Conchal, it is a 20 minute walk from Playa Brasilito. Only some resorts in the area have direct access to the beach.

Tamarindo 
Just 30 minutes away from Flamingo Beach. This is the largest destination in the area and famous for surfing. Tamarindo, built directly off the main beach, has more hotels, restaurants, shops, art galleries and nightlife than other towns around.

Santa Rosa National Park
Scene of the historic Battle of March 20, 1856, the Santa Rosa National Park is the only Protected Wilderness Area that has a historical museum within its territory. Also found in the park are some of the most ancient lands of Costa Rica, which emerged from the sea over 85 million years ago.

Palo Verde National Park
Palo Verde National Park is a slice of wetland sanctuary in the middle of Guanacaste. The 45,500-acre park contains more than 15 topographical zones, including mangrove swamps, evergreen forests, and tropical dry forests. The park is a haven for migratory birds, bats, and 250 species of bees, plus mammals like jaguarundis (cat) and howler monkeys.

Golfing
Hacienda Pinilla Golf Course is located 40 minutes away from Flamingo Beach, an 18-hole course with a par 72 over 7,200 yards. Oceanic views are part of the attraction along with lush and green area courses that are professionally designed and offer high-quality amenities.

Flamingo Beach is located approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away from the Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia (52 kms/32 miles). From the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose, it is approximately a 5 hour drive (266 kms /165 miles)
