Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica! SJO - Alajuela
At your arrival to the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) we will provide private transportation to your hotel in Alajuela. Just 45 minutes away from the airport you will find yourself in a tranquil haven high up in the cloud forest. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the surroundings. Night in Alajuela mountains.
Day 2: Alajuela
Fun day exploring the Poas Volcano and its surroundings! Visit a coffee plantation where you will get a taste of the local cuisine and one of the best coffees in Costa Rica. Stop at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, where you will find some amazing waterfalls, extensive walking trails, a butterfly farm and a refuge for wild animals like jaguars, pumas, monkeys, toucans, macaws and many more species. Return to your lodge. Night in Alajuela.
Day 3: Alajuela - La Fortuna
After breakfast , private transportation will be provided to La Fortuna, home to the Arenal Volcano and the perfect spot for adventurers and nature lovers. Check in at your hotel. Night in La Fortuna.
Day 4: Arenal
After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel to begin your kayaking adventure at Lake Arenal. Enjoy a pleasant time with breath-taking views of the Arenal Volcano and observe different species of birds and other animals. Return to your hotel. In the afternoon you will visit the town of La Fortuna for your first Costa Rican cooking class! Learn about the local agricultural products and how to cook Tico-style. Night at La Fortuna.
Day 5: La Fortuna - Tamarindo
After breakfast, pick up at your hotel to continue to Tamarindo Beach, Guanacaste. Tamarindo is one of the most popular beaches in Costa Rica, with a long sandy beach and warm waters all year round. It is a well known surfing spot and a lively town with many restaurants and stores. Night in Tamarindo.
Day 6 : Tamarindo
A day at leisure to relax at the beach. Night in Tamarindo.
Day 7: Tamarindo
After breakfast, start your day with a 2 hour drive to Rincon de la Vieja National Park where you will have a full day to explore the flora, fauna and natural wonders of this volcano. The day consists of a moderate hike where you will see wildlife and volcanic activity, visit the Oropendola Waterfall where you can swim in the blue lagoon, eat a typical Costa Rican lunch and then relax at the hot springs and take a volcanic mud bath. Return to the hotel. Night in Tamarindo.
Day 8: Tamarindo
A day at leisure to relax at the beach. Night in Tamarindo.
Day 9: Tamarindo - Heredia
After breakfast, transportation will be provided to Heredia for your last night in Costa Rica. With a superb colonial architecture, this town is called "the city of flowers" because of its beautiful people and gardens. Check in at your hotel. Night in Heredia.
Day 10: Departure
Private transportation will be provided to the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) or to your next destination!
