Selva Verde Lodge

Selva Verde Lodge, located in the Costa Rica, opens a world of knowledge and simple enjoyment to all of its guests. While at Selva Verse, the visitor may schedule an array of activities suited to every interest and ability, from relaxing in a hammock and absorbing the wonder of the forest, to  on the Sarapiquí River, to hiking Selva Verde's rainforest trails with a resident naturalist.

Selva Verde is a rainforest lodge which is dedicated to educating its guest on the wonders and natural beauty of Costa Rica's unique and fragile tropical rainforest. Beyond its roughly 500 acres of preserved rainforest, the guides and an ever expanding reference library.

Optional Activities

Guides Natural History Walks

Walk through the Selva Verde Forest trails with an English speaking naturalist guide. Learn about the unique ecosystem of the rainforest and its flora and fauna. Walks last for three hours, and are suited to individual interests and needs.

Cost per person: $15.00

Sarapiquí River Boat Ride.

Two to three trips in a motorized river boat down the Sarapiquí River. You will have the opportunity to view river wildlife, as well as observe the vitality of the river as a means of transport for the local Costa Ricans. Must be reserved one day in advance.

$20.00 per person without transfers.

$25.00 per person with transfer from Selva Verde lodge to the Puerto Viejo Boat Dock, and back.

Tour Butterfly Garden

Walk through Selva Verde's unique butterfly garden and learn about the world of butterflies, the plans and flowers they are attracted to, and how the garden is maintained.

$5.00 per person.

River Rafting

Raft the Sarapiquí River Through the rainforest.

The trip departs from Selva Verde an is an unparalleled opportunity to experience the wonder of the Caribbean Lowlands of Costa Rica. You will witness the biological diversity of the tropical rainforest as you raft the Sarapiquí River. The river has a gentler current with several.l minor class one and class two rapids. All trips are escorted by professional river guide. More changeling Class III and IV rafting is available by special request.

$45.00 per person for a half (3-4 hours)

Includes transportation from take out point at Puerto Viejo back to Selva Verde.

Horseback Ride

Enjoy a two to there hour ride through the country-side with a Spanish speaking guide.

$20.00 per person.
