The slow but steady rise in popularity of mountain biking in Costa Rica has contributed to the creation of the National Association of Mountain Bike, which regulates all competitions held in the country.

The competition organizer believes this is an activity for everyone, they have divided participants into seven basic groups: children, five to ten years of age of 11 an 15; juvenile, for youths of 16 and 17 years of age; novices, 18 years and up. Also, they have introduced a separate category for women and veteran's category which includes anyone 35 or older.

Today's entire families enjoy going out on excursions, which have become a decidable way of speeding time together and enjoying the forest and mountains.

There are numerous destination within the country that can an be enjoyed on a bicycle: In Liberia, Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, San Carlos, Tacacorí de Alajuela, San Rafael de Heredia, Escazú, Turrialba, Orosí and many more.

It is important to emphasize the significance of conserving our environment to ensure that future generations have the chance to appreciate Costa Rica's impressive biodiversity- and its sheer beauty- from the seat of a mountain bike.
