The Bird Santuary is located in Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve area with an attention of 600 acres, at 55 feet above sea level. There are 4.5 miles of trails in a special eco-system with an abundance of birds, mammals and plants, which have been preserved thought the heightened interest in conservation that has spread among the inhabitants of Monteverde. This magnificent valley allows several bird species to follow their own natural cycle, such is the case of Bellbirds, which stay in the reserve for 8 months of the year, during this time they are grow up, returning later to complete their natural life cycle.

The Bird Sanctuary offers several different guided tours specially designed for birdwatchers we start at 5:00 am picking up people at any hotel of the area (a slide show with spectacular pictures of the reserve and breakfast are included at the information center).
