and Geography of Costa Rica
Costa
Rica has been for many years a relative peaceful country and
has been able to gain international credibility through its
political, stability in the Central America. For more than
100 years Costa Rica has enjoy a stable democracy and a relatively
high standards of living for Latin America.
The
Literacy rate is high (95 %), as are medical standards.Perhaps
the most significant fact is that this country does not a
army. Costa Rica have two coast, one in the Pacific Ocean
and in the Caribbean Sea, crossing one side to another will
take at least 5 hours.
The
Pacific coast can be divided in three areas see map (Guanacaste
and The Nicoya Peninsula, the Central coast, and the southern
coast) is characterized by a rugged coastline and because
of that you will find a different variety of vegetation and
weather (from a dry sunny climate of the northwest to the
humid rain forest of the south.
The
Caribbean coast can be divided in two areas one that can be
accessible by boat or plane (Tortuguero).
In the south area, along the stretch of coast accessible by
car, there are uncrowded beaches and even a bit of coral reef.
You will fine enough species of birds to keep bird watchers
interested.
Costa
Rica is bordered to the south- east by Panama to the North
by Nicaragua to the north- east by the Caribbean sea an to
the west and south-west by the Pacific ocean, Costa Rica (
19 500 sq miles) with more than 750 miles of coastline on
both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. one of the things
that characterized Costa Rica its a back bone of mountains.
With
three major ranges running northwest to the southeast in this
mountains are several volcanic peaks, some of which are still
active. Between the mountain ranges fertile valleys, the largest
and most populated of which is the Central Valley. With exception
of the dry Guanacaste.
